ASSUME NOTHING

The goal here is to educate & empower one another about people, places & things that can either add or subtract from a good outcome prior to surgery rather than after; that's a great and noble mission. The key to educating and empowering people about their experiences with the medical system, especially concerning  orthopedic surgery like hip or knee replacements, involves a multifaceted approach in order to avoid mistakes, revisions & inexperienced interns, surgeons, medical assistants & physical therapists not Doctors & Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants that over promise but  are either incompetent or  incapable of delivering on their promises.

So its best to do your own research before not after. More often than not if you go to a surgery center & I cannot repeat that enough ; ignorance of the law is no excuse for you as an un-informed patient headed into surgery like what happened to me @ Rothman Orthopaedic Hospital in Bensalem which is privately owned & held by the Doctors that prefer to operate there so they have a fiduciary interest like Dr David Nazarian who treated me but pretty much was clueless when doing the newest simple technique & his outcome clearly 🙄  proves he didn't & doesn't know what he is was or will know what he's doing. I only wish I had done prior research on him & Rothman policies.  Its not really a Hospital; its a surgie center so by law they can operate @ a lower standard of care than @ a hospital.  How could the average person be aware of all of the  but unless you do your research prior then you have have to live with the consequences like I currently am. Same for physical therapists especially if they work independantly; they can change the record to make everything look good for them even if it isn't true.

Don't be afraid to ask more questions because it matters. Check to see if the surgeon has ever been sued for malpractice; you can do that on your on HERE.  A lot of information can be found online but not all. Remember that. Just because they have stellar reviews on Google.com doesn't mean that they are really real.

In my case I had gone to Dr Nazarian @ Rothman Orthopaedics in Bensalem & he promised to take good care of me which I assume he meant it but from the outcome I would have to say he is less than stellar in the new fancy schmansy easy peasy front approach & orthopedic skills. Here is the perfect example  on the website he states that he is mako trained in computer assisted surgery but he did not use it in my case .

1. **Create a Comprehensive Guide:** Develop a detailed and easy-to-understand guide or booklet that explains the steps before, during, and after surgery. This guide should include explanations of medical terms, possible complications, recovery expectations, and tips for rehabilitation.

2. **Workshops and Seminars:** Organize workshops or seminars where individuals can gain firsthand knowledge from professionals. These workshops can include talks from surgeons, physiotherapists, and even patients who have already been through the process.

3. **Online Platform:** Develop a website or a social media platform where individuals can share their experiences, provide tips, and support each other. This could also involve a Q&A section where experts answer the most common questions.

4. **Advocacy:** Advocate for patient rights and transparency within the medical system. This could involve working with hospitals and health organizations to ensure that patients are fully informed about the procedures and their rights are respected.

5. **Support System:** Create a support system that provides emotional, psychological, and practical assistance. This could involve support groups, hotlines, and resources for counseling.

6. **Education for Medical Staff:** Organize training for medical staff to improve their communication with patients. This can help to ensure that patients understand their treatment and feel more comfortable asking questions.

7. **Follow-Up Care:** Emphasize the importance of follow-up care and regular check-ups after surgery. This can help to prevent complications and ensure the best outcome for the patient.

Remember, the main goal is to empower patients by giving them the information and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health. This involves breaking down complex medical jargon into understandable language and providing a platform for them to voice their concerns and experiences.
